Frequently Asked Questions

HOW DOES A JOCKEY BOX WORK?

While it looks daunting, it’s really simple! Beer is run through stainless steel coil that is submerged in ice and water. As the beer passes through the coil it becomes very cold and comes out the faucet at around 38 degrees, the ideal serving temperature for draft beer!

DO KEGS REQUIRE DIFFERENT HOOKUPS?

Yes! There are a variety of couplers (the device that connects the keg to the jockey box). Different breweries use different kegs and thus different couplers are needed. We have every type of coupler in stock so all we need to know from you is the type of beer you plan on serving!

SHOULD I KEEP THE KEG COLD?

Some say that to preserve the keg beer over time, it is best to keep kegs cold. BUT our jockey boxes are festival style boxes and thus do not require the keg to be iced to still pour an ice cold beer. We suggest keeping kegs out of direct sunlight and avoid excessive movement of the keg.

DO YOU PROVIDE SERVING STAFF?

While we do not provide serving staff, we can connect with you bartender staffing companies who will certainly be able to help you out! Please mention you’re interested in this during the booking process and we’ll make the connection.

WHAT MAKES YOUR BEER BARS BETTER THAN OTHERS?

Each and every one of our draft beer structures is retrofit with a jockey box or multiple jockey boxes. Don't be fooled by look-a-like bars ... they will require you to ice the kegs and even when on ice, the beer is likely to be foamy and not ice cold.

WHERE DO I GET A KEG?

While we do not sell kegs or any alcohol, we work with a network of preferred retail vendors. Our relationships with these retailers allow our clients to get the best of the best in terms of product and we can pickup and deliver the kegs if you've paid for delivery of equipment from us!
